All food served in the University Center and Alumni House must be provided by Adelphi Dining Services unless prior arrangements have been made with Adelphi Dining Services (visit the Adelphi Dining Services website or call 516.789.1011). In the event that Adelphi Dining Services’ approval was not received for outside food, the event will be shut down until the food is disposed of and the department or organization may lose their reservation privileges.
For Adelphi departments and non-University clients, arrangements for banquets, receptions, parties, dances, meetings, etc. are to be made with the catering staff at least ten (10) business days in advance of the event. For student organizations, arrangements for banquets, receptions, parties, dances, meetings, etc. are to be made with the catering staff at least twenty-three (23) days in advance of the event. For all catered events, final arrangements must be completed and guaranteed numbers confirmed seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled event.
Failure to adhere to the aforementioned policy may result in the immediate cancellation of the event.
All requests for use of tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment (laptop computer, LCD projector, overhead projector, etc.), staging, sound equipment, etc., and desired room setup must be made with the Operation Manager no later than twenty-three (23) days prior to the event. Any changes to the existing setup must be communicated to University Center no later than noon the day before the event or the change cannot be guaranteed. Changes to event setups scheduled for a Saturday or Sunday must be made by noon on Thursday.
Events scheduled in the Ruth S. Harley University Center and the Angello Alumni House requiring extended building hours (early or late) will be assessed an additional hourly fee over and above the rental and service rates. Hourly rates will also be assessed if an event is scheduled during a time when the building would normally be closed.
